Following a successful Innovate UKRI funding bid, it has been announced that Scotland will shortly have its own £15.8m AI healthcare research centre in the form of iCAIRD. The Industrial Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research in Digital Diagnostics is a pan-Scotland collaboration of partners from across industry, academia and the NHS. It will be a Scottish Centre of Excellence focusing on the application of AI and digital technology in healthcare, promising to enable better diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for patients.
